Colombian Artist Oscar Muñoz Receives 2018 Hasselblad Award in Photography
The 2018 Hasselblad Award in Photography has been awarded to Colombian artist Oscar Muñoz. This prestigious accolade, created by the Hasselblad Foundation in Sweden, acknowledges exceptional contributions to the field of photography. Muñoz will receive SEK 1,000,000, which is approximately £87,000. An exhibition showcasing his work is planned for the autumn at the Hasselblad Center located in Gothenburg. The selection was made by an international jury, chaired by Mark Sealy, who is the curator and director of Autograph ABP in London. Other jury members included Marta Gili from Jeu de Paume in Paris, Paul Roth from the Ryerson Image Center in Toronto, Bisi Silva from the Center for Contemporary Art in Lagos, and Hripsimé Visser from the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
