Collezione Ramo's Drawing Collection Debuts at Museo del Novecento

exhibition · 2026-05-04

The Collezione Ramo, a major collection of Italian 20th-century drawings, will be exhibited at the Museo del Novecento in Milan starting November 22, 2018. The show, titled 'Chi ha paura del disegno?', features nearly 600 works on paper, many previously unseen, by artists including Cagnaccio di San Pietro, Tancredi, Domenico Gnoli, Alberto Burri, and Umberto Boccioni. The collection was assembled by late entrepreneur Giuseppe 'Pino' Rabolini, founder of Pomellato, with curator Irina Zucca Alessandrelli. Rabolini focused exclusively on drawing, acquiring works based on historical significance rather than market trends. The exhibition is divided into four thematic sections: 'Astrattismi?', 'Figurazioni?', 'Parole + immagini = ?', and 'E gli scultori?'. A video by Virgilio Villoresi accompanies the show. The collection aims to highlight the importance of drawing in Italian art, with plans to travel the exhibition and eventually present the full collection.
