CollettivO CineticO's 'Benvenuto Umano' Premieres at Romaeuropa Festival

CollettivO CineticO, founded by choreographer and dancer Francesca Pennini in 2007, celebrates its tenth anniversary with the performance 'Benvenuto Umano' at Teatro Vascello in Rome on October 21 and 22, 2017, as part of the Romaeuropa Festival. The work marks a return to the body after exploring pop myths and cultural archetypes, incorporating influences from the frescoes of Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara and traditional Chinese medicine. Pennini describes the piece as a rhizomatic refraction rather than a linear narrative, emphasizing complexity and ambiguity. The performance also draws on the company's long-standing engagement with game and ritual, using a set of rules to shape live action. 'Benvenuto Umano' closes a decade-long project on heterotopias, a concept from Foucault, that began with the body and now returns to it with new insights.
