Collector Exhibition at Tri Postal, Lille: 40 Years of Contemporary Art from Cnap Collections

The exhibition 'Collector' at Tri Postal in Lille, running from October 5, 2011 to January 1, 2012, showcases works from the collections of the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap). It focuses on the last forty years of French and international creation, mixing disciplines such as photography, video, and design, with an emphasis on installations over painting. The exhibition is structured in three sections: 'Les grands transparents', 'Dommages collatéraux', and 'Life Is a Killer', aiming to reflect societal, political, and cultural issues that emerged in the late 1960s. The Cnap collection, comprising 90,000 pieces, celebrates its 220th anniversary this year. Notable artists include Byars, Attia, Afif, Ardouvin, Wang Du, Fatmi, and Fauguet, all acquired during their lifetimes.
