Collective Photo Exhibition Explores Identity at Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice
The MLB – Maria Livia Brunelli home gallery has organized a group exhibition titled "Chi sono io?" at the Bevilacqua La Masa headquarters in Piazza San Marco, Venice. Inspired by the eponymous book by Concita De Gregorio, the show brings together photographs by five women artists featured in the volume, using self-representation as a powerful interpretive lens. Silvia Camporesi dilutes her identity into timeless female icons while preserving the connection to her own unique body. Anna Di Prospero immerses herself in the urban environment overseas, turning her back to the camera or playing hide-and-seek with the viewer's gaze within a carefully studied chromatic framework. Simona Ghizzoni explores the implacable force of time, frozen in colorful moments captured by Moira Ricci, who shifts the focus of identity onto places and the scales assigned to one's existence. Finally, Guia Besana's works recall Cindy Sherman's series, staging fragments of identity that seem lifted from a film set.
