Collective Curatorial Project 'Dilemma' Opens at Carrozzerie N.O.T. in Rome

On January 16, 2020, the group exhibition 'Dilemma' opened at Carrozzerie N.O.T. in Rome's Trastevere district. The project is the culmination of a Master in Arts Management by IED | Istituto Europeo di Design, held between Florence and Rome, and was organized by a team of young professionals from eleven countries. The curatorial team includes Xenia Sedunova (Saint Petersburg), Sude Yedikardes (Istanbul), Carlota Brito (Lisbon), Amanda Johansson (Helsingborg), Sara Torcato (Lisbon/Reykjavik), Annie Drew (Birmingham), Andrea Garcia (Barranquilla), Giulia Mancinelli (Florence), Laura Vetter (Berlin), and Su Usal (Istanbul). The exhibition features works selected from over 100 international artist proposals, chosen through a collective decision-making process. The venue, a former mechanical workshop, retains its industrial character, deliberately avoiding the white cube model. The project is predominantly female and was funded via crowdfunding. The theme 'dilemma' explores personal and societal anxieties, with the curators emphasizing openness, curiosity, and process over outcome. The team previously collaborated on the exhibition 'GOMITO/GOMITO' in Florence. The show is communicated in Italian and English.
