Collectionair launches affordable art platform with curatorial approach

Collectionair is a new online platform for art priced under $10,000, founded by Senegalese entrepreneur Valerie Konde and Olivier Varenne, co-director of Mona in Tasmania. The site organizes works into curated exhibitions with specific durations, curators, and themes, mimicking the gallery experience. Each artwork can be viewed in a virtual room to assess scale, and a chat service connects users with staff. A scientific committee includes Jean-Hubert Martin, Emmanuelle de Montgazon, Philippa Adams, and Adelina Von Fustenberg. Inaugural shows feature a solo exhibition by Jala Wahid (until October 11), a focus on Iranian art, a solo show by Janet Biggs curated by Barbara Polla, and one by Rachel Garrard. The platform also hosts a Journal with essays, interviews, and articles. Collectionair aims to address rising exhibition costs and market uncertainties by offering an alternative online space for artists, collectors, and institutions.
