Collected Light: Women Light Artists at H Queen's
The Henderson, Henderson Land Development's flagship commercial project designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, presents 'Collected Light: From Legacy to Future' at H Queen's, 80 Queen's Road Central. The exhibition previews on International Women's Day, March 8, 2024, and runs from March 9 to April 6, 2024, as part of the Henderson Arts @ Central programme. It features eight multidisciplinary women artists: Chila Kumari Singh Burman, Carla Chan, Jacqueline Hen, Sarah Lai, Betty Ng / COLLECTIVE, So Wing Po, Raha Raissnia, and Liz West. The show explores light as a medium, inspired by Zaha Hadid's legacy and The Henderson's design, which opens in Fall 2024. Works include Burman's neon pieces from her Tate Britain commission 'A Brave New World', Ng's site-specific 'Corner Relief 45o150o', So Wing Po's 'Sword of Damocles' (2024) using medicinal tree materials, Chan's 'Fading Light in Space' (2024) on extreme weather, Hen's 'Off the Grid' installation, Raissnia's video 'Nour' with a 16mm projector, Lai's painting and video 'Pretending to be the painting (for 3 minutes)', and West's immersive 'Our Colour Reflection' with mirrored disks. Curated by Vera Lam, Director of HART, the exhibition is supported by Women in Lighting and Light Collective, with lighting sponsorship from Forma Lighting.
