Cocoricò nightclub in Riccione becomes Italy's first museum inside a club

The Cocoricò nightclub in Riccione, a legendary venue for electronic music closed since 2019, is transforming into the MUDI (Museo Discocratico), Italy's first museum housed inside a club. The project is led by artistic director Mike Pagliarulo of Unfollow Advertising, together with owners Enrico Galli and Antonella Bonicalzi. The museum will feature rotating exhibitions of video art, live performances, painting, sculpture, photography, theater, and cinema, alongside the club's historic dance nights. A digital version will offer immersive experiences in NFT art and 3D art, with a parallel virtual museum accessible via smartphone, computer, or VR. The museum aims to valorize young Italian talents and has begun the process of official recognition with the Emilia-Romagna region. The crowdfunding campaign is in its final month to complete renovations. The team includes musical director Alex Franconeri and 3D artist Lorenzo Fornaciari. The museum targets the club's existing young audience (18-25) and plans daytime events open to a wider public.
