Coconino Fest Returns to Ravenna with Love Comics Theme

The second edition of Coconino Fest, titled Love Comics, will take place in Ravenna from June 15 to 18, 2023. Organized by Coconino Press, the festival celebrates comics in relation to music, visual arts, literature, cinema, and performance. The main venue is the MAR – Museo d’Arte della Città di Ravenna, which will host four major exhibitions of original works by Andrea Pazienza, Kazuo Kamimura, Manuele Fior, and Paolo Bacilieri, plus a collective show featuring emerging artists Benedetta D’Incau, Silvia Righetti, and Rambo Pavone. Exhibitions run until July 30. Additional events include a tribute to Andrea Pazienza on the 35th anniversary of his death, with a reading by Emidio Clementi; a remembrance of Tuono Pettinato by the Super Amici group; talks by Bacilieri, Fior, and Alice Milani; and a screening of the film Pantafa. City councilor Fabio Sbaraglia expressed pride in hosting the festival, while Coconino Press CEO Ilaria Bonaccorsi Gardini emphasized the importance of consolidating the event in Ravenna.
