Clyfford Still Museum to open multisensory 'Still in Sound' exhibition
On May 16, the Clyfford Still Museum in Denver will debut 'Still in Sound,' a multisensory exhibition co-curated by Bailey Placzek, the museum's collections curator, and British multidisciplinary artist Ben Coleman. This exhibition will fill the museum's six largest galleries, allowing attendees to engage with abstract visual language through sound. During short residencies, contemporary sound artists Maria Chávez, Maya Dunietz, Kalyn Heffernan, Matana Roberts, and Michael Schumacher each chose a Clyfford Still piece and created unique sonic interpretations that define the atmosphere of each gallery. Furthermore, the museum will showcase 'Celebrating 15 Years: 15 New Paintings in 15 Months' in the first gallery, along with a chronological presentation of Still's works in the first three galleries.
