Club To Club 2018: Aphex Twin, Jamie XX, and Peggy Gou Headline Turin Festival

The 2018 edition of Club To Club, Italy's premier electronic music festival, kicked off with a preview at OGR and continued with main nights on November 2 and 3 at Lingotto, closing the frenetic art week in Turin that saw the international contemporary art world converge for Artissima and its collateral events. The festival featured standout performances: Beach House delivered a flat set on Friday, with Victoria Legrand's vocals and Alex Scally's guitar failing to ignite the dreamy atmospheres; Jamie XX electrified the crowd with a dance-heavy set that included Ornella Vanoni's 1977 hit "Ti voglio"; Peggy Gou, a Korean-born DJ based in Berlin, made her Lingotto debut at 3 AM wearing a Juventus shirt, blending electro, African music, early '90s house, and techno; Yves Tumor, performing shirtless in red leather pants, delivered the most original and chaotic performance of Saturday with tracks from his Warp Records album "Safe In The Hands of Love"; Aphex Twin, headlining after seven years away from Italy, played an hybrid DJ set with visuals by Weirdcore, including images of Italian pop culture figures censored by his face, and closed with a noise climax; Kode9, the surprise guest, brought incredible energy at 3:15 AM with a mix from dubstep to Gucci Mane's "I Get the Bag".
