Club Rhubarb's Bowery Walk-Up Hosts Brock Enright's 'I Am So Pretty'

exhibition · 2026-05-06

Club Rhubarb, a nomadic art project founded by artist-turned-curator Tony Cox, has opened its third location in a two-floor walk-up on the Bowery, directly across from the New Museum. The current exhibition, 'I Am So Pretty,' features the work of Brock Enright, a 50-year-old artist who has spent 30 years creating mixed-media works that blend found objects, painting, and video. The show fills the entire house, from a mudroom with splashy paintings made of wood, acrylic, and foam to a darkened bathroom where visitors watch Enright's short films from the 2000s, including footage from his defunct kidnapping-for-hire business that garnered media attention from Rolling Stone and TV shows like 'The View' and 'Good Morning America.' A second-floor installation of electronically altered guitars plays a loop of Enright's music, while the top floor features suspended sculptures made from scrunchies, bottle corks, straws, and toys, collectively called 'Wailing Witches Receiver Arena.' Cox, who met Enright three decades ago, likens his friend's art to weather, noting the variety of conditions and changes over time. The exhibition is accessible by online booking and runs at 8 Prince Street, New York.
