Cloud Architects Completes Casa Cloud Terrace in Kobe, Japan

CLOUD ARCHITECTS has designed Casa Cloud Terrace, a mixed-use architecture project in Kobe, Japan, completed in 2025. The structure combines a private residence with an architecture studio on a suburban residential site. The property faces two streets: a 26-meter-wide main road to the south, lined with large commercial establishments, and a 6-meter-wide quiet residential street to the north. The site features a significant slope, with the northern half inclined at about 30 degrees, creating a 5.5-meter elevation difference between the north and south ends. The project spans 115 square meters and includes categories for mixed-use architecture, houses, and office architecture. The design team was led by Masato Kawakami, who served as the architect in charge, with Takuya Uemura also contributing. Landscape design was handled by Ryokukou Garden, while structural engineering was provided by Graph Studio. Interior design was executed by fab-, and Beams Construction acted as the general contractor. Photography for the project was done by Takumi Ota. Suppliers involved include HOSHIZAKI, Miratap, Pasasonic, Sanei, Toto, fujioh, and maruzen. The project was curated by Miwa Negoro.
