Clint Jukkala's Framing Devices Explored at Volta During Armory Week

Clint Jukkala presents new paintings at Volta through March 8, exploring visual perception through circular and oval framing devices. The artist describes his work as encouraging viewers to consider looking inward through outward perspectives and vice versa. His current pieces feature forms resembling eyes, goggles, and periscopes set within landscapes containing water, grass, and sky. Jukkala aims for paintings that suggest multiple directions without settling on any single interpretation. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Fred Giampietro Gallery from New Haven. One specific work, "Mesmerized" from 2014, measures 12 by 14 inches and uses oil on canvas. Volta occupies PIER 90 at West 50th Street and 12th Avenue in New York.
