Climate Emergency Animation Created Through Exquisite Corpse Game
A collective of eight filmmakers has created a two-minute animated short called ‘Climate Emergency.’ Employing a surrealist technique known as ‘exquisite corpse,’ they spent two months developing individual segments without full awareness of each other's contributions. Guided only by a specific color palette and the theme of climate change, the project incorporates a five-second segment from the previous artist. Music composition for the short was handled by John Poon. The animation portrays prominent motifs like polluted waters, smog, melting ice, and profit-driven businessmen, echoing concerns over environmental degradation, inspired by a 1920s surrealist game.
