Clémentine Deliss Discusses 'Seven Stories About Modern Art in Africa' at Whitechapel Gallery
On Thursday, June 19, 2014, Clémentine Deliss, a curator, will take part in the sixth Exhibition Histories Talk at the Whitechapel Gallery in London. This event, organized in collaboration with Afterall and the Whitechapel Gallery, will feature a discussion between Deliss and Elvira Dyangani Ose, the Curator of International Art at Tate Modern. Deliss will reflect on her influential 1995 exhibition, 'Seven Stories About Modern Art in Africa,' which showcased narratives from African artists, critics, and curators to provide context for contemporary African art. The event will start with a presentation followed by a discussion. Tickets are priced at £8.50 (£6.50 for concessions). The Exhibition Histories series is a research initiative by Afterall, in partnership with the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College and distributed by Koenig Books, London.
