Claudio Gobbi's First Berlin Solo Show at WeGallery

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Italian photographer Claudio Gobbi (Ancona, 1971) presents his first solo exhibition in Berlin at WeGallery, titled Europae. The show runs until December 3, 2016, at Friedrichstraße 17. Gobbi, who studied photography in Milan under Gabriele Basilico and has been based in Berlin for six years, was selected for the 2017 Artist-in-Residence at Künstlerhaus Villa Waldberta in Munich. The exhibition features two photographic series: Persistence (2003–2011), an investigation of architecture and theater in 20th-century European capitals from Russia to Portugal, and Arménie Ville (2007–2016), focused on Armenian ecclesiastical architecture. WeGallery, founded in 2014 by Davide Di Maggio, is known for its attention to Italian art. The series explore Europe's geo-political and cultural borders, as well as photography's role in representing reality.
