Claudia Virginia Vitari launches A-Head Project residency in Rome
Artist Claudia Virginia Vitari will begin a residency at Gnosis Cooperativa Sociale Onlus in Rome on July 1, 2025, as part of the A-Head Project initiative. Founded in 2017 by the Calapai family to combat mental health stigma, A-Head Project involves the Associazione Angelo Azzurro Onlus and international artists. Vitari, born in Turin in 1978, will lead drawing, painting, and screen-printing workshops for individuals supported by Gnosis, a cooperative established in 1990 by psychologists from Sapienza University. The residency runs through January 2026, culminating in a 2026 exhibition in Rome (venue and dates TBD) featuring new works in glass, rice paper, and iron alongside selections from her Le Città Invisibili series, previously shown in Barcelona and Turin. The project is supported by Galleria Raffaella De Chirico of Milan. Vitari aims to create a 'chorus of voices' that restores visibility and humanity to stigmatized experiences.
