Claudia Losi's 'Asking Shelter' at Galleria Monica de Cardenas

Claudia Losi (born 1971 in Piacenza) presents a solo exhibition titled 'Asking Shelter' at Galleria Monica de Cardenas in Milan. The show features a new archipelago of works, including primordial architectures placed on the floor or at eye level on walls, carving out protected spaces within open cages. Small huts assembled with rose branches are punctually traversed by tiny silver insects, their metallic sheen blending with the thorns. In adjacent rooms, a globular assembly offers a different cut, revealing the artist's manipulation of materials from velvet to marble, human body to paper, between surface extensions and narrative depths, embroidery and bush-hammering. The exhibition runs from February 2017.
