Claudia Losi and Paolo Simonazzi Dual Exhibition at Collezione Maramotti

Collezione Maramotti in Reggio Emilia presents two simultaneous exhibitions: Claudia Losi's 'How do I imagine being there?' and Paolo Simonazzi's 'So near, so far', both opening in May 2016. Losi's show explores memory and sensory perception through a journey to the St. Kilda archipelago in Scotland, undertaken in 2012. The artist, born in Piacenza in 1971, translates her experience into textiles, photographs, collages, bronze fusions, and texts. The exhibition features an audio piece titled 'Ear for EYES', referencing John Cage's 'Ear for EAR'. Simonazzi's photographic series, part of the 11th edition of Fotografia Europea, portrays his native Reggio Emilia (born 1961) as a hub of cultural and linguistic cross-pollination. His prints are displayed horizontally on pavement-like supports, inviting viewers to walk along them. Losi's exhibition runs until October 16, 2016, while Simonazzi's closes on July 31, 2016.
