Claudia D. Roscelli Captures the Beauty of Slowing Down

Madrid-born artist Claudia D. Roscelli (b. 1992) creates works that celebrate everyday moments and the passage of time. Her series "Slow Moments" includes the piece "Everyday Life," selected for the London Art Biennale 2025. Roscelli uses mixed media—oil, acrylic, pencils, watercolors, gouache, pastels, and scratch techniques—to evoke the erosion of memory. She studied Fine Arts at Complutense University of Madrid, with a Master's in Art Direction, and trained at Bauhaus Universität (Weimar), Central Saint Martins (London), Utrecht University, and KABK (The Hague). Her work has been exhibited at galleries and fairs in Marseille, Venice, and Madrid, including the ARTIST Contemporary Art Fair (2020, Madrid) and "El paso del tiempo" at Galería Sara Caso (Madrid). Roscelli emphasizes the value of presence and tactility in a digital age, urging viewers to appreciate slow, imperfect moments. She believes that wear and tear on materials mirrors the dignity of lived experience, and that art can serve as a refuge from speed.
