Claudia Cardinale's jewelry collection to be auctioned by Christie's

Christie's will auction approximately twenty pieces of jewelry belonging to the late Italian actress Claudia Cardinale from June 19 to 26, 2026. The online sale includes iconic items from Bulgari and Buccellati worn by Cardinale at pivotal career moments, such as daisy earrings with sapphires and diamonds worn at the 1963 press conference for 'Il Gattopardo' alongside Alain Delon and Burt Lancaster, and diamond drop earrings worn to the 1966 Oscars with Rock Hudson. Among the most anticipated lots are three Bulgari rings shown at the 1971 Paris premiere of 'Le pistolere' with Brigitte Bardot: a 30-carat emerald ring (estimated €60,000–80,000), a 30-carat ruby ring (€80,000–100,000), and a sapphire ring (€50,000–80,000). The jewelry was largely gifted by producer Franco Cristaldi, Cardinale's partner, as recognition of her talent. The sale was curated by Cardinale's children, Claudia Squitieri and Patrick Cristaldi. Proceeds will partially benefit the Fondazione Claudia Cardinale, established by the actress and her daughter before her death on September 23, 2025, to support young women in audiovisual arts.
