Claude Lalanne, the French sculptor and designer, passed away in 2019 at age 93. With her husband François-Xavier Lalanne, she formed the artistic duo Les Lalanne, creating furniture, sculpture, and jewelry that blended fine art with design. Despite early connections to major 20th-century artists like Constantin Brancusi, Max Ernst, Salvador Dalí, Jean Tinguely, and Niki de Saint Phalle at Paris's Impasse Ronsin, their work was long overlooked by the contemporary art establishment.
