Clara Dios's Carabanchel Studio Elevates Everyday Materials
Clara Dios has launched her studio, La Obra XYZ, within a 47-square-meter apartment located in Madrid's Carabanchel district, drawing the attention of up-and-coming creative studios. The studio, named Gorrión, repurposes a previous residence into a workspace that honors the vernacular architecture of Madrid. Its open-plan design features a kitchen, seating area, and work surfaces, highlighted by a central beam and pillar adorned with 15x15 cm ceramic tiles. The interior incorporates Emperor marble, cream-hued low furniture, and a primary worktable made from two Imasoto STUDY structures. A Nordic chair is covered with leftover ceramic fragments. The microcement flooring amplifies natural light, complemented by vibrant accent colors. Dios's design philosophy focuses on identity through the use of existing materials.
