Claire Chambless Opens Studio at M. David & Co. in Bushwick During Two-Week Residency

Claire Chambless, an MFA candidate at CalArts in Los Angeles, presents her work during an open studio at M. David & Co. in Brooklyn. The gallery, located at 56 Bogart Street in Bushwick, hosts intensive two-week residency programs led by artist and curator Michael David. Chambless, originally from Atlanta, GA, creates sculptures that blend found objects with handmade elements and traditional building materials like plywood and concrete. Her practice explores relationships between individuals and groups through these assemblages. The open studio takes place August 24-25 from 1-6 PM at the gallery between Harrison Place and Grattan Street. M. David & Co., previously known as Life of Mars and Schweitzer and David, also organizes short exhibitions of selected artists. Critics provide feedback to participants in the residency program, which has become a tradition at the gallery.
