Cities Connection Project Celebrates 15 Years with Comparative Architecture Exhibition

architecture-design · 2026-05-21

The Cities Connection Project (CCP) presents '15 años de arquitectura comparada' at MUHBA Oliva Artés in Barcelona, running from April 16 to June 10, 2026, as part of the Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026 program. The exhibition features 550 projects: 202 recent works and 348 from previous editions, organized into five thematic islands addressing new forms of dwelling, densification, renaturalization, collective infrastructure, and hybrid programs. The show moves away from territorial logic to a programmatic affinity approach, comparing projects from Barcelona, Madrid, Ticino, Geneva, Zurich, Basel, Liège, Charleroi, Brussels, Bilbao, Coimbra, Milan, Mexico City, Bengaluru, and Paris. The display uses black steel modular structures with integrated lighting. A parallel program brought nearly 150 architects from Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Luxembourg, and Mexico for site visits and exchanges. The 'Close Encounters' debate series continues on May 13 at Benito Urban HUB and June 10 at MUHBA Oliva Artés. CCP was founded in 2012 by architects Nicola Regusci and Xavier Bustos, and has built a network of nearly 400 architecture firms and 70 institutions.
