Cinta Vidal designs La Mercè 2026 poster with impossible perspectives

Barcelona-based artist Cinta Vidal has created the official poster for La Mercè 2026, Barcelona's major festival. The illustration, titled "Barcelona desplegada: una ciudad de perspectivas, recorridos y hallazgos," depicts the city as a folded landscape with multiple viewpoints, incorporating all ten districts plus a symbolic "district 11" dedicated to Palestine. The poster includes references to festival events such as the Cursa de la Mercè, Terra i Gust food fair, and castellers. Vidal, born in 1982 and trained at Escola Massana, began her career as a scenic painter and is known for impossible architectures and multiple perspectives. Her works have been exhibited in London, Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco. The poster has also been reproduced as a large-format mural at the Biblioteca Marina de Port – Francesc Candel in Sants-Montjuïc. La Mercè 2026 will take place from September 23 to 27.
