Cinema Nervi: video art reinterprets Pier Luigi Nervi's architecture

digital · 2026-04-27

The video art project Cinema Nervi, produced by NAM – Not A Museum in collaboration with Parasite 2.0, launched on January 19, 2021, with the first work by Lucia Tahan. Tahan reinterpreted Pier Luigi Nervi's Palazzo del Lavoro in Turin using an Instagram filter, inviting public participation. The project precedes the exhibition "Pier Luigi Nervi, la Struttura e la Bellezza" at Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence. Parasite 2.0, a collective based in Milan, London, and Brussels, selected five international artists—Lucia Tahan, Clube, The Pleasure Paradox, Anabel Garcia-Kurland, and Alessio Grancini—to reinterpret Nervi's works including the Palazzo del Lavoro, the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, the Stadio Artemio Franchi, Manifattura Tabacchi, and the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. New videos will be released weekly on Tuesdays via NAM's IGTV and Manifattura Tabacchi's YouTube channel. The collective noted that Nervi anticipated digital evolution in architecture despite lacking digital tools.
