Cinema Galleggiante Returns to Venice with Sound Experimentation
From August 25 to September 10, 2022, the third edition of Cinema Galleggiante – Acque Sconosciute will take place on the Giudecca Canal in Venice. This year's lineup features video and film pieces from the Fondazione In Between Art Film collection, which is also showcasing its inaugural group exhibition, 'Penumbra,' at Complesso dell'Ospedaletto until November 27, aligning with the Venice Biennale. A new addition this year is a three-day sound experimentation event from September 16-18, highlighting an interactive sound installation by Alessandro Sciaraffa, complemented by free water taxi services and sustainable food from TOCIA! cucina e comunità. Founded by Edoardo Aruta and Paolo Rosso (Microclima), the festival collaborates with several partners, including Ocean Space / TBA21-Academy and the Collezione Peggy Guggenheim. The 2022 theme delves into the surreal and absurd, featuring dream transcriptions from women inmates at Giudecca prison by Associazione Closer, while Venice Open Stage debuts with a performance from Malmadur theatre company.
