Cinecittà Segreta returns to Rome with behind-the-scenes tours
Cinecittà Segreta, a cultural initiative that kicked off in 2011, will be back at Rome's Cinecittà studios from April 14 to May 1, 2018. This special event offers weekend access to parts of the studios that people usually can't visit. Guests can explore various film sets and exhibitions, including "Perché Cinecittà," "Girando a Cinecittà," and a temporary show called "Cinecittà – Fatti e personaggi tra il cinema e la cronaca," which celebrates the studios' 80th anniversary. Notable tour highlights are the Cinegarden, carpentry workshop, prop warehouse, and the iconic Palazzina Presidenziale from 1937. Special activities include a 'Camera delle meraviglie' tour with ancient Roman props on April 14-15 and a family tour featuring Fellini's Venusia sculpture on April 25. Giancarlo Di Gregorio, the communication director at Istituto Luce-Cinecittà, mentioned that this project strengthens the studios' cultural role, especially during the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage.
