Cinecittà launches online cinema education amid coronavirus lockdown

digital · 2026-04-27

During the COVID-19 crisis, the renowned Roman film studio, Cinecittà, initiated the "A casa con Cinecittà" social media campaign. This initiative provides multimedia tours of its sets and shares videos along with free educational resources twice a week on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Developed by the educational team, the content features a crossword puzzle related to scenography and a storyboard guide for Martin Scorsese's "Gangs of New York." Additional subjects cover the Totoro Garden project, costume design, and animations from "Spirited Away." Wednesdays highlight content in Italian Sign Language, while Fridays focus on adult-oriented videos, including the "Felliniana – Ferretti sogna Fellini" exhibition, virtual tours, and insights into Fellini. All videos can be found on the Istituto Luce Cinecittà YouTube channel.
