On Sunday, a painting from the thirteenth century by Cimabue, titled The Mocking of Christ, fetched €24.2 million at the Actéon auction house located near Paris, marking a new record for the artist. This artwork was found in the kitchen of an elderly Frenchwoman and was confirmed to be part of an altarpiece that includes additional sections housed in the Frick Collection in New York and the National Gallery in London. In a move to strengthen its position against Christie's, Sotheby's owner Patrick Drahi appointed Charles Stewart as CEO on Monday, replacing Tad Smith. The second edition of the Jeju Biennale, set to launch in May 2020, will be directed by Inseon Kim with curator Leeji Hong. Additionally, the fifth triennial of Prospect New Orleans, titled Yesterday we said tomorrow and curated by Naima J. Keith and Diana Nawi, is scheduled to open in October 2020. The Kathmandu Triennale, which will commence in December 2020, has selected Hit Man Gurung and Sheelasha Rajbhandari as curators, alongside artistic director Cosmin Costinas.
