Chuck Close and Riccardo Zangelmi Exhibitions Open at MAR Ravenna

Two new exhibitions have opened at MAR – Museo d’Arte della città di Ravenna. The first, curated by Daniele Torcellini, features Chuck Close (born 1940) and his recent series of mosaic and ceramic works, including the Subway Portraits, twelve pieces commissioned in 2017 by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Arts & Design program for the New York subway. The second exhibition, Forever Young, curated by Davide Caroli, showcases Lego sculptures by Riccardo Zangelmi (born 1981), the only Italian artist certified as a LEGO Certified Professional. Both shows are part of the sixth edition of Ravenna Mosaico – Biennale of Contemporary Mosaic, running until November 24, which also includes an installation by French artist Niki De Saint Phalle.
