Chto Delat's Bird Works at The Gallery Apart in Rome
The Gallery Apart in Rome presents Bird Works (2018–2024) by Chto Delat, the Russian collective of philosophers, critics, and artists exiled across Europe due to their opposition to the Putin regime. The exhibition marks twenty years of the group's resistance and ten years since founding the School of Engaged Art in St. Petersburg. The works, created during a period of authoritarian crackdown, environmental crisis, and the pandemic, feature birds as symbols of freedom and vigilance.
