Christopher Wool's Word Paintings at MAMCS Strasbourg

Christopher Wool's exhibition at the Musée d'art moderne et contemporain in Strasbourg, France, ran from June 16 to September 24, 2006. The show focused on his large black-and-white word and phrase paintings, which he began in the late 1980s. Wool's work reconsiders the content of painting through the dual lens of conceptual art's deconstruction of painting and a critique of that very deconstruction. His practice establishes a foundation for some of the most successful pictorial work today.
