Christopher Nolan-Inspired Exhibition 'Interstellar. Ré-imaginer la Terre' Opens in Nantes

The exhibition 'Interstellar. Ré-imaginer la Terre' (Interstellar: Re-imagining the Earth) opens at HAB Galerie in Nantes from May 23 to September 27, 2026. Curated by Marc Donnadieu, the show features around twenty artists, photographers, videographers, and designers who respond to the fantasies of space exploration by reimagining our own planet. The title references Christopher Nolan's film 'Interstellar', but the curatorial concept draws on the Romantic poet Novalis's idea that the universe exists within us. Artists include Rebecca Bournigault, Constance Guisset, Clara Imbert, David Munoz, Hongjie Yang, Charlotte Charbonnel, and Hugo Deverchère. Charbonnel's work evokes the 'lunar sea' in the Sea of Clouds on the Moon's visible face, while Deverchère engraves in marble stars born shortly after the Big Bang, as captured by the James Webb Telescope. The exhibition is a highlight of the Le Voyage à Nantes art trail, which this summer inaugurates a new thematic cycle on the elements, beginning with earth. It also references Blaise Pascal's 1669 meditation on the 'infinite immensity of spaces'. The show runs at HAB Galerie, 21 Quai des Antilles, 44200 Nantes, and is featured in Beaux Arts Magazine's double summer special issue (n°505-506, July 2026).
