Christoph Schlingensief's first comprehensive solo exhibition in Austria opens at MAK Vienna in 2026

The MAK in Vienna is teaming up with the Vienna Festival to present Austria's first major solo exhibition dedicated to Christoph Schlingensief, who lived from 1960 to 2010. Titled It’s Not My Problem Anymore!, this showcase draws its name from Schlingensief's comments in 2005. It’s set to run from May 13 to September 13, 2026, at the MAK Exhibition Hall. Schlingensief was a multifaceted talent—he was a filmmaker, political activist, theater and opera director, actor, visual artist, and bestselling writer. His creations challenge traditional genres and encourage audience interaction, stirring both irritation and insight. The exhibition will also feature his provocative work, Please Love Austria – First, which highlights social issues in the country.
