Christoph Marthaler directs inclusive play with Theater Hora in Basel

Christoph Marthaler, a renowned Swiss theater director, has collaborated for the first time with Theater Hora, a professional ensemble of actors with disabilities, to stage the play "GmbH – Gesellschaft mit besonderer Hingabe" (Ltd. – Company with Special Devotion) in Basel. The production, which premiered at the Kaserne Basel, explores themes of community and dedication through an inclusive approach where all actors perform together. Marthaler, known for his unconventional and music-infused works, brings his signature style to this partnership, emphasizing collective creation. Theater Hora, founded in 1993, is recognized for challenging norms around disability in performance. The play runs until November 2023.
