Christo Reveals Future Projects: Arkansas River and UAE Mastaba
Christo (Gabrovo, 1935) made a notable appearance in Milan as he prepares for the debut of his Iseo project, set to launch in June on Lake Iseo. He participated in signing copies of a new Taschen book that chronicles the project's development, with the proceeds supporting his Land Art initiatives. During his time at NABA, he cautioned against discussing politics, religion, or other artists, while explaining the rapid approval process for the Iseo project, aesthetic trials conducted on a German lake, and the ongoing construction efforts. Four local firms are tirelessly working around the clock to assemble 220,000 polyethylene cubes into panels, secured by 190 anchors and adorned with felt and bright yellow fabric. The installation will link Sulzano to two islands and feature a 1.5 km land path. Future endeavors include a ten-kilometer fabric stretch over the Arkansas River and a Mastaba in the UAE.
