Christmas Talking Trees: Poetic Light Installation at Hotel de Russie in Rome
The enchanting garden of Rome's Hotel de Russie, crafted by the 19th-century architect Giuseppe Valadier, is currently showcasing Christmas Talking Trees, a radiant installation by artist Marco Nereo Rotelli (born in Venice, 1955) alongside Nobel Prize winner Riccardo Valentini. For this event, four olive trees have been fitted with interactive sensors, designed by Valentini and the PandA Foundation as part of the patented Tree Talker initiative. These sensors light up when touched, reflecting the trees' vitality through color. The trees recite poetry from a diverse group of contemporary poets, including Adonis, Gemma Bracco, and others. Additionally, four artworks by Rotelli, in partnership with Alessandro Erra Arte and curated by Luca Cantore D'amore, are included. This installation will be available until January 6, 2024, at Via del Babbuino 9, Rome.
