Christmas Design 2024 Transforms Bergamo with 14 Installations

From November 23, 2024 to January 6, 2025, the city of Bergamo hosts the second edition of Christmas Design, a diffuse exhibition featuring 14 installations by Italian designers and companies. The theme is 'Metamorphosis and Transformations,' inspired by the centenary of Franz Kafka's death. Works range from wood and steel sculptures to interactive and light installations, placed in key locations from Piazzale Marconi to Piazza Vecchia. The event includes Christmas Design Kids, a show of 12 works by primary school classes from Bergamo and province, created with recycled materials in collaboration with Promoberg-Fiera di Bergamo. Two round tables titled 'Metamorphosis and Transformations: Stories of Projects and Works' are organized by the Fondazione Architetti di Bergamo at Gres Art 671. The project was conceived by landscape architect Maurizio Vegini of Studio GPT with Nicola Viscardi of the Distretto Urbano del Commercio (DUC) of Bergamo, supported by Regione Lombardia and Provincia di Bergamo. Viscardi stated the exhibition aims to entertain and provoke reflection on ecological and social changes.
