Christina Lehnert Appointed Curator of Portikus in Frankfurt

Christina Lehnert has been named the new curator for Portikus, the exhibition venue associated with the Städelschule Academy of Fine Arts in Frankfurt. Philippe Pirotte, who serves as the director of both the Städelschule and Portikus, made the announcement. Lehnert takes over from Fabian Schöneich, who is concluding his term. Previously, she was a curator at Kunstverein Braunschweig and has an academic background in art history and philosophy from Humboldt University in Berlin. From 2015 to 2016, she curated at the Gebert Foundation for Culture in Switzerland, working with artists such as Hanne Lippard and Gabriel Kuri. Lehnert has also been involved with Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein and Kunsthalle Bielefeld. Established in 1987, Portikus focuses on showcasing and discussing the works of both emerging and established artists.
