Christie's achieved 94% of lots sold and 99% of value sold during its Milan Art Week 2019 auctions, comprising the Evening Sale on April 3 and the Day Sale on April 4. The top lot was Giorgio Morandi's 1952 'Natura Morta', sold online for €1,570,000. Mario Schifano's 1964 'Particolare di propaganda' fetched €634,000, while Ubaldo Oppi's 'Giovani donne al mare' set a record at €200,000. Pennisi highlighted the return to figuration in art, with Christie's creating thematic focuses on early 20th-century artists like the Scuola romana and Realismo magico.
