Christie's Paris to Auction Alberto Pinto's Eclectic Collection

Christie's is auctioning over a thousand objects from the private collection of interior designer Alberto Pinto in Paris until September 14, coinciding with the Biennale des Antiquaires. The sale includes rare silver animal figures, porcelain, furniture, and works by artists such as Edouard Vuillard, Man Ray, Mark Quinn, and Vik Muniz. Pinto, born in Casablanca in 1945 and died in Paris in 2012, was known for his eclectic style, blending Renaissance, Baroque, Empire, and contemporary elements. The auction features a rare collection of 250 silver animals, reflecting his passion for tableware. The Biennale des Antiquaires runs at the Grand Palais until September 17, marking its transition to an annual event. Pinto, of Italian descent, designed luxury interiors including the Hostellerie de Plaisance, Grand Hotel Park in Gstaad, and the Hôtel de la Victoire in Paris.
