Christie's London to auction 58 Kate Moss-inspired works from Gert Elfering collection

On September 25, Christie's London will host an auction featuring 58 artworks influenced by supermodel Kate Moss, curated by Gert Elfering. The estimated value of the sale ranges from £1.3 to 2 million and includes creations by renowned artists such as Allen Jones, Chuck Close, Irving Penn, Bruce Weber, and others. Notable pieces consist of Jones's 'Kate in Red' (2013, oil on canvas, £150-250,000) and 'A Model, Model' (2013, sculpture, £120-180,000), along with Close's 'Kate' (2007, tapestry, £60-80,000) and Penn's Vogue cover print from September 1996 (£50-70,000). Additional highlights feature Weber's nudes and Sante D'Orazio's 'Kate Moss on lounge chair I, Glen Cove, NY, 1995' (£20-30,000). Moss, who debuted with Calvin Klein in 1990, has been a muse for many contemporary artists, with Elfering's collaboration resulting in limited editions for this auction.
