From April 28 to 30, Christie's Hong Kong hosted its Spring 2026 Asian Art Week, which garnered a remarkable total of HK$872,202,640 (US$111,308,233) through six live auctions featuring Chinese Paintings and Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art. This marks a 54% rise compared to the previous year and the highest total for the Asian Art Spring season since 2018. The overall hammer price exceeded the low estimate by 140%, fueled by active bidding from the saleroom, online, and via telephone. New buyers surged by 33%, predominantly among Millennials and younger collectors, with participation from bidders across 23 countries on six continents; Mainland China saw a 173% increase in spending compared to last year, followed by Taiwan and Hong Kong.
