Christie's Brett Gorvy joins Dominique Lévy gallery
After 23 years at Christie's, where he served as chairman and international head of postwar and contemporary art, Brett Gorvy is departing to join Dominique Lévy's gallery, which will be rebranded as Lévy Gorvy. During his tenure, Christie's set remarkable auction records, including $179.4 million for Picasso's Les Femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') in 2015, $170.4 million for Modigliani's Nu Couché in the same year, and $142.4 million for Bacon's Three Studies of Lucian Freud in 2013. At 52, Gorvy expressed to The New York Times that he was ready for a new challenge, likening his transition to Roger Federer elevating his career. Lévy Gorvy will have locations in New York, London, and Geneva.
