Christiane Peschek's Multisensory 'Fever' Debuts at NIKA Project Space
Fever, a multisensory exhibition by artist Christiane Peschek (they/them), is currently on display at NIKA Project Space, marking their inaugural solo exhibition in the UAE. This immersive installation addresses themes of global warming and planetary fever dreams through a combination of sound, scent, heat, and visuals. On the ground floor, visitors will find new AI-generated portraits on silk alongside sculptures crafted using glass blowing and 3D printing. The mezzanine features a healing oracle installation. Peschek's research in the Liwa Desert of Abu Dhabi has inspired narratives surrounding desert snakes and mirages, highlighting issues of environmental toxicity. Fever is part of the GAIA SCRIPTS series, which examines fire, following previous exhibitions on air and water. NIKA's research program, which has also showcased Nika Neelova and Katya Muromtseva, supports this exhibition. Founder Veronika Berezina emphasized the importance of cross-cultural dialogue.
