Christian MVNO Radiant Mobile to block porn and gender content at network level
Radiant Mobile, a new US mobile virtual network operator targeting Christians, will launch on May 5 with network-level blocking of pornography and optional default blocking of content related to gender and trans issues. Founder Paul Fisher, a former fashion agent, says the network aims to create a "Jesus-centric" environment free of porn, LGBT, and trans material. The blocks, enforced by Israeli cybersecurity firm Allot, cannot be removed even by adult account owners—a first for a US cell plan. Fisher has recruited Christian influencers and churches, offering a $30/month subscription with donations to congregations. The company has received $17.5 million from Compax Ventures, with Nvidia VP Roger Bringmann as lead investor. Radiant plans to offer AI-generated religious content using characters from Elf Labs. Critics, including Northeastern professor David Choffnes, warn that the blunt blocking tool risks over-censorship and is unlikely to be fully effective.
